Graf von Faber-Castell Collection

The carpenter Kaspar Faber started producing pencils in 1761 in Stein near Nuremberg. In 1893, his great-grandson Baron Lothar von Faber took over the company and coined the pencil into a true quality product and the world’s first high-end trademark pen. Over the centuries, the house of Faber-Castell has created a family-owned business empire which until this day is located in the village of Stein near Nuremberg.

Current chairman, Anton-Wolfgang Graf von Faber-Castell, rose to the challenge of rediscovering the past and combining it with a timeless modern design and today’s technology. The Graf von Faber-Castell Collection, founded in 1993, is the more than worthy result of his effort. The pens and accessories of the collection are unique in their great craftsmanship and the combination of selected materials, excellent functionality and their sophisticated aesthetics. The highlight of the collection is the “Pen of the Year”. The pen stands out through the use of extraordinary materials, such as hand woven horsehair, leaf gilded bog oak, jade or mammoth ivory.

Another fine example of discreet yet perfect product development is the „Perfect Pencil“. The pencil is available in black or brown and features a platinized protection cap holding an eraser and pencil sharpener. The “Perfect Pencil” combines the company’s maxim of precision and passion.
