Lamberts.de selected as 2014’s craft trade website of the year

Traditional craftsmanship does not rule out a creative web presence: This has been proven by the IDM-member Glashütte Lamberts by winning this year’s competition for the best craft trade website in the category glass processing.

Until October 31, company websites from various trades stood for election of 2014’s best craft trade website in 16 categories. As a benchmark, the visitors were able to evaluate the different websites in terms of design, content and usability. More than 33,000 votes narrowed the group to five finalists in every category. Finally, a professional jury consisting of previous prize winners and experts decided on the winners in each category as well as the overall winner.

“With its presentation and consistent implementation, lamberts.de literally invites its visitors to linger and wander around. Numerous high-quality photos deliver a great impression of the craft and the products manufactured, blending harmoniously into this professionally designed and well-structured website“, the jury assessed.

Based in Waldsassen, Glashütte Lamberts produces high-quality glass products in a contemporary design. With its products being individually tailored to each project and customer, Glashütte Lamberts belongs to the worldwide leading glasswork manufacturers for mouth-blown flat glass. Their products are used all over the world, such as for the Holy Trinity Church in Shanghai or for an artwork by the artists Cindy and Bob Kessler at the University of Toledo in Ohio.

By winning the “craft trade website of the year award”, Glashütte Lamberts underlines the innovative force and adaptability of the German manufacturing sector. Turning changes to their benefit and preserving traditional craftsmanship is one the key concerns of the “Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen – Handmade-in-Germany“ and its members.
