Roeckl becomes 21st member of the “Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen – Handmade-in-Germany“

Just at its 175th anniversary, Roeckl becomes part of the “Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen – Handmade-in-Germany“. From now on, the Munich-based family producer of fine leather gloves and premium accessories joins 20 other manufactories to present itself under the umbrella brand “Handmade-in-Germany“ which stands for German handmade products of highest quality.

By entering the „Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen – Handmade-in-Germany“ Roeckl makes a commitment to lived craftsmanship tradition and the uniqueness of products from German manufactories. “The members of the ‘Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen‘ all share the same love for the detail as well as a belief in the success of authentic, high-quality products“, says Annette Roeckl, who runs the family business in sixth generation.

“Handmade-in-Germany“ is currently highly popular: Thanks to global trends like the return to sustainable products and the hype on products with a certain “heritage“, German manufactories are enjoying a true renaissance. Handmade products from Germany are particularly coveted in the BRIC-countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India and China: Exports of the manufactories to those countries increase steadily.

The brand Roeckl is a worldwide synonym for first-class leather gloves and premium accessories. Having been worn by Bavarian king Ludwig II and Austrian empress Sissi, Roeckl leather gloves are still being sewn together by specially trained shoemakers with 2000 stitches. The gloves consist of 24 individual parts.

Together with partners such as the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, the product series Graf von Faber-Castell Collection, WELTER Wandunikate or Burmester Audiosysteme, Roeckl now represents the unique quality demands of German manufactories as part of the “Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen – Handmade-in-Germany“.
