Berlin buzzed with Handmade in Germany

The 4th edition of DAYS OF THE GERMAN MANUFACTURERS in Berlin – with the special exhibition “Handmade for Men“ and a food market

The DAYS OF THE GERMAN MANUFACTURERS with the exhibition HANDMADE IN GERMANY take place for the 4th time this year and just as its traditional venue, the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM). it has become an institution in the city. For the very first time, the event initiated by “Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen – Handmade-in-Germany” will be enriched by the special exhibition “Handmade for Men” and a food market. This year the exhibition is also supported by Manufactum, whose partners will present local delicacies of the project “Berliner Manufakturenschätze”. Another highlight will be the Berlin Gentlemen’s Circle with its tailor-made shirts and shoes as well as a barber shop.

On the 22nd and 23rd September it is time to experience manufactory products, watch the artisans fabricating their artworks live and feel the fascination of craftsmanship.

The 4th edition of the successful event showcases several novelties again. “The renaissance of the classy culture of gentlemen left us no choice. We had to integrate this topic in our event. We are delighted to present the well-known Gentlemen’s Circle that lives this philosophy as part of the exhibition with their own barber shop” states Michael T. Schröder, founder and chairman of Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen.

The yard of KPM will be all about culinary pleasures: handmade, regional delicacies will be offeredwith the involvement of Manufactum: “The beautiful yard of KPM is a magnificent backdrop to present the culinary manufactory specialties of Berlin. I think it is a wonderful opportunity to put a spotlight on young manufactories and associate them with tradition-steeped companies. These food start-ups are full of passion and quality consciousness even though they only consist of a handful of people. We are inspired by these small manufactories and thus support them.” says Martin Erdmann of Manufactum.

The participating manufactories from Berlin and Germany let the visitors participate in the production steps and immerse in a world of cultural assets, often produced by tradition-conscious family businesses with special attention to details.
